Step #1: Open a picture of your face in PhotoShop


x Select the Crop Tool

x Crop your Photo. You want only need your head and shoulders remaining in the image.

Step #2: Lasso Around your Face ~


x Use the Magnetic Lasso Tool.

x Begin to trace around your head and shoulders.

Step #3: Add to or Subtract from Selection ~


x To Add (or take away from) your image, change to the basic Lasso Tool

x On the Menu Bar, you can set Add to Selection or Subtract from Selection.

x Outline the area that you want to add.

x Or if you want to subtract from the selection...

x Circle the area you want to remove.

Step #4: Create a New Layer ~


x Right-click on your image and choose Layer via Copy

.

x In the Layers Palate, you can now see 2 layers, one of just your selected area and the other the background layer.

.

x Notice the Background layer is locked. Get rid of it by right clicking on the layer.

.

OR: Just drag the layer and drop it into the little trash can.

Step #4: Liquify Filter


x Go to: Filter > Liquify

.

x Choose the Warp Tool, increase the brush size to fit between your eye and your eye brow.

.

x Try pushing the eye brow up in the middle without changing the eye yet. If you don’t like what you have done, click on the Revert button.

.

x If you like you image so far, click OK

x Go back to: Filters > Liquify and try the Bloat Tool

.

x Make the brush size just bigger than your eye.

x Hold down your mouse button over your eye to see what happens.

x Try the Pucker Tool on your nose.

.

x Remember to click OK each time you get your image to a place that you like it; otherwise you will lose those changes when and if you click on revert.

x Using these 3 tools: Pucker, Bloat and Warp, try adjusting other parts of your face.

.

Step #5: Change Your Skin Color ~


x Using the Magic Wand tool Click on your forehead. Right click on your face and choose Grow. If you are lucky you will now have all of your skin selected.

.

x Continue to click on any remaining skin that is showing. Be sure that the selection tool bar is set to Add to Selection.

.

x You may need to Lasso areas such as the teeth or parts of your hair to remove from selection.

.

x Go to: Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation.

.

x Drag the hue marker to the left and right to see your skin color change.

.

x Click on OK when you have it the color that you want. Then hit Ctrl+D to Deselect

x Mess around with other parts of the image. Be sure to save your work before you change too much.

.

x Change the hair color by using the same method: hue and saturation, changing the hue as well as the saturation bar.

.

Step #4: Save the file as YOUR NAME! so we know who's it is.


x Go to: File > Save for Web and Devices and save make the size approximately 500 pixels wide.

x Save the file as a .jpg and attach.
