06 - Create Star Shapes in PhotoShop - Shapes, Warp Tool on Text


Follow this tutorial & attach the results to the bottom of this journal.
Step #1: Star Shapes in PhotoShop
Open your project in PhotoShop
Select the Shape Tool and then the Polygon Tool = ![]()

Make sure Fill pixels is selected. Then click on the
Geometry options arrow:

Select Star. Also notice the other options available. You may want to come back here later and experiment.

Lastly, set the color of your star.

Make a new layer for your star by clicking the New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers Palette.

Step #2: Drag the Cursor Across the Screen

You can change the number of sides here:

Step #3: Make Another Layer
Create another new layer.
Then draw a new star above the old one.
Add stars on separate layers so you can make them different colors & add layer effects.

Step #4: Type Layer
Select the Type Tool and type some words you can use for a project.

Then click on the Create warped text button on the top menu bar.

Experiment with the various settings & find something to like.

Lastly, add blending options to the text layer.
Click on the little
on the bottom of the layers palette.

Last Step:Save & Attach ~
Save the file as a .PSD and attach it to this journal.
.PSD preserves your layers so you can work on it later
