13 - Centaurs and Other Hybrid Animals - Learn Liquify, Clone Stamp and Masking in PhotoShop
Centaurs are half-human and half-animal race of creatures in Greek Mythology but there are many mythical beasts you can create.
Step #1: Find Your Photos
Find a pictures of animals, your torso, etc. and open them in Photoshop.
If you cant see all the images, Right-Click and select "Move to New Window."

Combine them into one Photoshop document.
Rename your layers.
Step #2: Cut the Background ~
Using the Quick Select Tool or the Magic Wand...

...select the background.
If you select too much, hit "Subtract from selection" in the options bar.

Add to selection works too...
Get whatever's left with the Eraser Tool

Sometimes there's no substitute for the regular old eraser tool.
Step #3: Transform the Size ~
Zoom-Out by hitting Ctrl - (minus)
Hit Ctrl+T and adjust the size of the images to match each other.
If necessary, lower the Opacity of the top layer to see beneath it.
Step #4: Clone Stamp ~
Turn the visibility off on the upper layer.
Select the Clone Stamp

The Clone Stamp copies one area to another.
Set the clone area by holding down the Alt key and clicking.

Alt+Click sets the clone point.
The Clone Stamp can be frustrating, but keep trying - you'll get it.
Step #5: Liquify Tool ~
Go to: Filter > Liquify
Select the Forward Warp Tool

Squeeze the parts to fit the background.
Try the other Liquify Tools also

Step #6: Set the Brush Tool ~
Select the Brush Tool

Select a soft round brush.

Step #7: Colors ~
Set your colors to default black & white or just hit the letter (D).

Then switch colors by hitting "X" or clicking the
so that Black is the foreground color.
Step #8: Mask Tool ~
Add a Layer Mask
Begin brushing with a soft round Black brush.
The color black erases and white puts it back. Try it!
Lower the Opacity and Flow of the brush for a better effect.
Using a combination of all these techniques, do a good job in making the images blend together.
Last Step: Save Your Project & Attach:
Save the file as YOUR NAME! so we know whose it is.
Save it as a .jpeg approximately 500 pixels wide by going to: File > Save for Web & Devices
[Note that .jpeg is the most widely use format for web graphics. That's because it makes the smallest file sizes so pages load quickly. Also you need to shrink the pixel width under image size. This is also important to make web pages load quickly.]
