Hobbies: I enjoy dancing, yoga, drawing and attending baseball and football games with my family.
I was born in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico, but I grew up in Hamilton City, CA, a very small town close to Chico, CA. I was a very active student in high school. I was in band, student government, M.E.C.H.A., M.E.S.A and did cheerleading for 3 years.
In college I became extremely interested in Latin American history, especially after completing an internship and taking classes in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. When I returned from my internship, I declared my majors and graduated in May 2004. Two weeks after graduation, I moved to Sacramento.
About this Course...
Students will develop the ability to express ideas about themselves and their immediate environment using simple sentences containing basic language structures which will be evidenced in all four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will also develop a better understanding of the world around them through the 5 C's: Culture, Communication, Comparisons and Community. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate orally or through written discourse about:
- The self: family, friends, home, rooms, health, school, schedules, leisure activities, campus life, likes and dislikes, shopping, clothing, prices, pets and animals.
- Beyond Self: geography, directions, buildings and monuments, weather and seasons, cultural and historical figures, places and events, colors, numbers, days, dates, months, time, food and customs, transportation, travel, professions, and work.
