As you are attending New Tech High you are required to have a minimum of 40 hours of community service hours to graduate from New Tech High. I’ve attend at New Tech High for four years. I’ve learned a lot by participate in the community to get community service hours. In order to gets community services hours, you have to learn how to socialize from communicated well with others. You just have to experience and know how to communicate with others outsider to be able to get community service hours.
My first community service hour is when I was a junior and helped my classmates from fund raising by car washing for the “Junior Prom.” Fund raise by using car wash as fund raising. I think it was a good idea to do it for the first step. By using car wash as a fund raise you get to meet all these different people. You get to move around and feel like your exercising, even after that it might be a little bit of tired but at least it’s worth it and your making money to help your school and you also gets community service hours out of it.
My second community service hours are when I helped the Hmong Conference to build a Hmong Conference website. As I’m doing this for my community service hour I also teach the people who are running for the Hmong Conference. I teach them how to update the website everyday. The reason I decide to help the Hmong Conference build a website is because I think it will be a great opportunity to help the Hmong Community to know what’s happening in school. What is the good new in the Hmong Community School or the location school in the community? It’ll help the Hmong student parent that does not speak English. It will help them to understand it by just go into the website.
The whole thing by building a website and make the server to run or to work, it was hard for me. I was having a difficult time to make the servers to work at the same time. By creating a template with all these different of links, I used my own time to use my creative to make a template. It wasn’t hard for me to make a template but it’s getting harder when you have to connect all the different parts together, put them all together into one template and turn it into a website by linking it. It was hard at first, after awhile I got use to it. I learned it by my own self to connect the entire link at the same time.
During building a website, I do caught myself into a difficult time also at the same time I did enjoyed making the website because I gets to put my ideas into the website. I’m pretty excited when the server will be up in 2007. It will be first announced in May 2007 at Sacramento State University College of the Hmong Conference 27th annual meeting.
