New Arrivals
Just because the good weather is coming doesn’t mean you should stop reading. The A.M. Winn Library and the Rancho Cordova Library (9845 Folsom Blvd.) have several new arrivals that should keep you reading all spring and summer long.
This sequel to Holes tells the story of 16-year-old Armpit after he is released from Camp Green Lake of Holes to his home in Austin, Texas. He gets involved in a ticket-scalping scheme and even gets to meet teenage singing star Kaira DeLeon, but then the trouble really begins, even though his intentions are good.
With their father jailed for sinking a river boat, Noah Underwood and his younger sister, Abbey, must gather evidence that the owner of this floating casino is emptying his toilets into the protected waters around their Florida Keys home.
The library just received a new copy of this modern classic adventure story. Thirteen-year-old Charlotte is the only female on a transatlantic voyage in 1832 and finds herself caught between a murderous captain and a mutinous crew.
This is a series of five small and colorful fantasies. The first volume, The Field Guide, sets up the story of the Grace children--13-year-old Mallory and 9-year-old twins Jared and Simon--who with their mother move into the dilapidated Spiderwick Estate only to find themselves sucked into a dark and fascinating world of faeries.
