When you join the Engineering & Technology Small Learning Community at McClatchy High School, in addition to studying the usual subjects like Math, English, Science or History you will also have the opportunity to learn about careers in a variety of manufacturing and service industries.  By exploring jobs in fields like Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Transportation, and Construction, you will be able to connect what you are learning in the classroom to how you might use it after you graduate.  Throughout your four years at McClatchy we will provide you opportunities to make these connections.  You will hear speakers from technology professions, you can spend time shadowing people employed in interesting jobs, you’ll take tours of companies, and in the 11^th or 12^th grade, you will even have a chance to work in one of these industries if you would like.  We look forward to welcoming you to McClatchy High School and the Engineering & Technology SLC.
