When you join the Health and Human Services Small Learning Community at McClatchy High School, in addition to studying the usual subjects like Math, English, Science or History you will also have the opportunity to learn about careers in people oriented services. By exploring jobs in fields like medicine, legal, education, government and the environment you will be able to connect what you are learning in the classroom to how you might use it after you graduate. Throughout your four years at McClatchy we will provide you opportunities to make these connections. You will hear speakers from Health and Human Services professions, you can spend time shadowing people employed in interesting jobs, you will take tours of companies, and in 11th or 12th grade, you will even have a chance to work in one of these industries if you would like.
