The Career Center offers various resources and workshops to help all students explore college and career opportunities. Access is offered to a comprehensive library of catalogs and materials, scholarship and financial aid information, computer software programs on college and career options, assistance with resume/cover letter writing and self-assessment tests that help students determine their skills and interests. Other services include coordination of visits made by college admissions officers, issuance of work permits, part-time job placements, military information and MUCH MORE! CSUS Masters of Social Work Interns provide counseling services to students on campus addressing issues such as depression, anger management, family, social, health and other issues. PEOPLE REACHING OUT
Students Reaching Out (SRO) engages high school students as leaders to create change in their community. Youth collaborate with law enforcement, schools, and community leaders to change attitudes and influence policies impacting the accessibility and abuse of alcohol and drugs by young people. This year, SRO is a zero period class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. PRO After School matches high school with elementary school students in a local after school program. High school volunteers provide violence prevention, education, mentoring, and enrichment activities. C K. McClatchy Healthy Start provides comprehensive, school-integrated services and activities to meet the academic achievement and to promote positive youth development for McClatchy students and families. The Healthy Start Family Resource Center and the Academic Learning Support Collaborative structure at CKM offers the following services.

STUDENT BULLETINS/STUDENT INFORMATION
Mondays and Thursdays, a student bulletin is printed and read in every second period class. The bulletin announces important school procedures and events. Copies of the bulletin are posted in the classrooms and the Counseling Office. Close attention should be given to announcements that are made over the public address system. All announcements must have prior clearance of the teacher-sponsor and the principal. Only items of school-wide importance are handled through these channels. Except for emergency or very important announcements, items which effect fewer than 20 students should be handled through individual notices sent to the student through second period classes. The posting of student announcements and posters must be cleared for approval through Mr. Douglas/ AP Jerry Crosby.
OUTREACH COORDINATOR
The Outreach Coordinator is located in the counselors office and provides information and guidance for students who need assistance with improving attendance and academic performance. For more information, please contact Marie Perez at 264-4401 Ext.#1026.

Mission Statement: Our mission it is to educate all of our valuable students to higher levels of learning responsibilities and that we each commit to the success of every student by name. We at the Parent and Student Center make aggressive strides to close the truancy gap at C.K. McClatchy High School. Our challenge is to make a personal commitment to do everything we can to close this gap. By closing the gap, it requires commitment of all stakeholders both parents and staff. We continue our efforts to align all resources to our goals for raising the levels of student learning responsibilities and ensure that all supports are aligned for equity, access, and achievement for every student by name. We dedicate ourselves to engage all our courageous partners to address and impact these very serious issues. We steadfast in our efforts and educate all our students to ensure that we all go up as one people. We provide the leadership needed to ensure success for Every Student by Name at C.K. McClatchy High School. We model positive learning attitude and behavior in school we shall aim at the belief of our children of every color. We deepen our practices, and mandate all instructional strategies that value and embrace the culture and language of our students.
