Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Welcome to Albert Einstein Middle School! We are so happy you have chosen our school for your child. Middle school is a very important time in your child's life. It is a foundational time when he/she will be supported academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. It is a transitional time from elementary school to secondary school during which study habits will be strengthened and individual responsibility will grow as students prepare for success in high school and beyond. Perhaps most essential, it is a challenging and formative time for your child as he/she is developing and maturing from child to adolescent. Here at Einstein, we are fully committed and prepared to support our students in all of these areas to ensure they reach their full potential!
Albetr Einstein Middle School is a California Distinguished School. Einstein students have demonstrated proficiency in the California Standards Test (CST) in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Elective Arts, and History. Out students are very motivated to do well and take delight in their successes. In fact, during the school year each student will look at his/her CST scores from last spring and set goals for personal best. Every student should be working toward the Proficient or Advanced level, learning the content standards and doing their best on the CST.
At Einstein, rigorous instruction is the top priority. We meet in department teams to discuss student achievement and plan instruction that is challenging, meaningful, motivational, and differentiated to meet individual student needs. We also meet in cross-curricular teams working together to ensure your child is successful. We focus on cooperative learning and writing in the content areas to make sure all students think at high levels and learn to collaborate and problem solve with others.
During this delicate and very important two-year window of time in your child's life, we are working to banish the idea that middle school is survival of the fittest, but rather it is a time and place for everyone to have an opportunity to find and express their best self and be noticed in a positive way. In an effort to make this happen, we implement a program called Where Everybody Belongs (WEB) in which our top 8th grade leaders serve as mentors for our incoming 7th graders. As part of this effort, we teach a strong anti-bullying curriculum, empower students to stand up for themselves and treat others with respect regardless of differences, and focus on Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
We invite you to be a significant patr of your child's middle school education through daily homework and responsibility building support, joining one of our important parent groups (Parent Teacher Student Associationm School Site Council, and English Learner Advisory Council), abd attending school events. In fact, please plan to attend Back-to-School Night on Tuesday, September 29 at 5:30pm as well as Awards Nights, Open House, and other activities.
At Albert Einstein Middle School, our students, parents, and community members are our best asset. Einstein is the cornerstone school for the Rosemont Community; indeed, many of you attended school here. We take your trust seriously. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to stop by the school office or call one of us directly. We are here to serve!
Sincerely,
Amy L. Monte, Ph.D.
