Automotive-Related Careers
Florin Technology Education Center offer three classes that can prepare you for a job in the automotive field. The training is done by experienced industry craftsman, but the costs is very reasonable, especially when compared to private schools. The programs we offer are:
ADVANCED AUTO ELECTRIC
In this 54-hour course students will learn about
automotive electricity, electronics, and advanced engine
diagnostics. This class allows current automotive
students or employed automotive workers to acquire
training for the ASE exam. Material fee $59 Textbook $60
T, Th 9 weeks 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
AUTOMOTIVE ACCESSORY INSTALLATION
In this class students will learn
- fundamentals of electrical and acoustical theories
- reading and understanding wiring diagrams and equipment manuals
- installation of stereos, speakers, equalizers, amplifiers, and other sound system components
- installation of power windows, doorlocks, and antennas
- installation of alarm systems
- installation of fog lights, overhead lighting, DVD and VCR players
- complete shop projects working on real vehicles
- learn the basics of sales
- understand the importance of customer service
- participate in career development skills, such as interviewing and resume writing

AUTOMOTIVE GLASS INSTALLATION
In this class student will learn to install, repair and
replace damaged windshields; remove broken or
damaged glass; select proper windshield and examine for
defects; and repair cracked or chipped windows.
