Prepare for Your Future
Florin Technology Education Center offers morning and evening GED preparation classes.If you need to improve your basic skills in reading, writing, and math, we have a class for you. In the evening, we have a Spanish GED preparation class. The GED and ABE (adult basic education classes are free. The test has a $125 charge, but if you complete the GED distance learning program, there's a $25 discount.
Robert Lipka, the former GED student pictured above with his GED certificate, talks about how the GED played a pivotal role in his life changes:

Here's the GED schedule:
GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (GED)
GED Test Preparation: This class will enable student
to improve his/her skills in order to successfully pass
the GED battery of tests. State approved GED
practice tests are administered to serve as a predictor
of performance on the GED test. Study is primarily on
an individualized basis, with student receiving
instruction and support tailored to his/her needs.

Enrollment times: M-Th 8:30-11:00 a.m. and W 6:00 p.m.
Class times: M thru F, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
M & W , 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
GENERAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT (GED)

ADULT BASIC EDUCATION (ABE)
This class is designed for English-speaking adults
who wish to improve their basic skills in the areas of
mathematics, reading, and writing. Completion of this
class helps students develop their academic skills for
a successful transition into high school completion,
vocational training, GED or community college. Free

READING/ABE CLASS
This afternoon class works on beginning reading skills

The mission of the Florin Technology Education Center is to enrich the lives of adults and youth by providing a learning environment for academic and vocational training thereby, empowering them to become contributing and economically independent members of their communities.
The Florin Technology Education Center is a public adult school operated by the Sacramento City Unified School District. The Technology Education Center is located on the corner of 24th and Florin, on Florin Road. Free parking is available on the school grounds for all students and the center is served by Regional Transit.
