We all want our children to have the best experience in school as possible. Research has shown that when a family is involved in a child’s educational experience, that child will earn better grades, have better social skills and will have a more positive attitude toward school. What better way to be involved in your child’s education here at Golden Empire that by volunteering and working with the dedicated staff and the other parents who want the same thing.
With critical budget cuts, yet again, it is really important that we pull together to make this an unforgettable year for our kids. The PTO’s current budget provides funds for individual classroom enrichment, field trips, assemblies, incentives and so much more. While our budget doesn’t provide as much as we’d like it to, it’s a good start and with every fundraiser and event we hold will only improve our children’s learning environment.
There are several volunteer opportunities within each event. The PTO understands busy schedules and will work with volunteers on how little or much time they can contribute. No time contribution is too small!
There is also an incredible volunteer opportunity right in your child’s classroom. Talk with your teachers to see how you can help.
I look forward to our first full year here at Golden Empire. It’s been terrific getting to speak with the parents and children that make Golden Empire great.
