Parent Involvement
Parents, guardians, grandparents, and all family members, we need you! Your student will be so much more successful with your participation. We will work hard to establish a relationship with you. We encourage parents to contact their student's teachers often and to visit our campus often. We welcome you to our school because we know that it is with your participation that students will be successful. At John Still, parent-participation groups include ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee), SSC (School Site Council), PTA (Parent Teacher Association), Boosters Club, and daily classroom volunteering.
This year Sacramento City Unified is proud to offer its parents the use of ParentConnect starting in November or December. ParentConnect grants parents access to Zangle, a newly-adopted internet-based student information system that will allow parents to get up-to-the-minute information on their children's grades and attendance. It also facilitates parent-teacher communication by allowing teachers to readily post classroom news, such as upcoming tests or projects. Similar access will be granted to students via StudentConnect.
