Dear Parents, Well, it’s time again to get into the fundraising mode for our 6^th grade students. Funds are needed for their big adventure to Sly Park in February (4 days and 3 nights). Below is a short list of fund raising activities that are planned for this month.

 Ø      We need volunteers for the Dance on October 10, 2008 from 6:15pm-8:00pm Chaperones: I will need about 9 total volunteers. The first 9 parents to volunteer will receive $5.00 to their child’s individual account.(Money earned for this fund raiser goes into the general fund and a portion of this account will be divided between all students going to Sly Park prior to the date of balance due. All accounts must be paid prior to February 1, 2009)

 Ø      The Fall Carnival is coming soon, the date is Wednesday, October 29^th 2:00pm-4:00pm. We need donations from all students: Candy, small toys, stuffed animals, and anything you can think of that would be appropriate as a carnival prize. I will also need plenty of adult volunteers to help manage carnival booths and take care of the ticket booth and snack bar. (Money earned for this fund raiser goes into the general fund also.)

Ø      See’s Winter Candy Sale Order Forms will go home on Thursday, November 13, 2008.  All orders will be due on Monday, December 1, 2008.  No late orders will be accepted.  (This is the last individual fundraiser that you students will have.)  The items will sell for $5.00 each and your child will receive $2.50 for each item sold to their individual account.

Sly Park Information Page

We have a date for Sly Park 2009 trip.  This trip is scheduled for February 17-20, 2009

The deposit for 2009 Sly Park trip is due by March 15, 2008!!  We have to have our reservation with the number of children who will be attending in by April 1, 2008.  If you have questions, please call Stephanie Ehrk at 228-5870.

Dear Parents of 6th Grade Students,

Many of you are quite familiar with the following information, either because of older children or children from other schools in the Sacramento Valley and near by areas. It is tradition at Erlewine Elementary that the parents help raise funds so our children have the opportunity to participate in a 4-day 3-night stay in an outdoor school adventure at the Sly Park Environmental Education Center. The Sly Park Environmental Education Center is state accredited and operated by the Sacramento County Office of Education.  Sly Park is located in the beautiful natural surroundings of El Dorado National Forest, just east of Placerville off of Hwy 50.

 The cost for this trip is $200.00 plus Transportation up and back.

The bus charges for the last two years have been around $20.00 per student, this will fluctuate dependent on the number of students that go up and the rising fuel cost.

 The total cost for this educational fieldtrip will be estimated at $220.00

 It is time to send in your non-refundable $30.00 deposit for your child to attend Sly Park in February 2009.  I must have deposits turned by March 15, 2008.

Checks are to be written out to O. W. Erlewine. (Not Erlewine P.T.A.-This activity is run through SCUSD banking system set-up for student activities.)

 We will be offering ways in which to earn money for this fieldtrip. We will have two opportunities to sell candy (See’s Easter Candy in the spring and See’s Holiday Candy in the fall) $2.50 of every item they sell, will be credited to your child’s individual account. You will be receiving the order forms for See’s Easter Candy on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. We have had students in the past that have sold enough candy to pay for 100% of their trip. We will also have fundraisers that the entire class will share in the proceeds: Dances/Cupcakes sales/Fall Carnival/Snack Bars at school events. We will be asking for parent volunteers for the before mentioned activities, without parent support we would not be able to earn additional money.
