A Note From the
Principal
Hello and welcome to O. W. Erlewine’s web page!
We hope you find this page easy to use and full of information.
O. W. Erlewine School promotes goal setting, good citizenship, and high
academic standards. We are extremely proud of our school and the
academic success our students have achieved. This year our STAR test
scores have continued to rise. We are very proud of our students
and staff!
Erlewine uses Open Court Language Arts, Saxon Math,
MacMillan/McGraw-Hill Social Studies, Science and
Step Up to Writing. We supplement our programs with Language Arts and
Math Standards Plus programs which have helped us to continue to focus
on the state standards. Assessments are done on a regular basis to help
direct our classroom instruction.
After
school our school is a very active campus. We have two day care
providers, 4th R and START. We also have tutoring programs and
many Enrichment Programs. Included in our Enrichment programs are
our Eco Club and Running Club.
This year
we will continue to offer band before school to our 4th-6th grade
students. If you are interested in participating in our band
program you may contact Mr. Bryan Stroh through our school office.
Several years ago we became a School of Technology. We now have a ratio
of 1 computer to every three students. Students use the Internet when
doing research projects and do their presentations using Power Point. We
have numerous computers to enhance our academic areas.
We have a wonderful staff! They are committed to on going staff
development and supporting our students.
We provide our students and families with a wonderful school library. Our
librarian, Mrs. Nelson, has done an outstanding job ordering books,
computer programs, and movies. Our library is open during the day and at
lunchtime for classes to check out books. Our library is also open for
family use on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30p.m.
We love to have parent volunteers both in and out of the classroom. Feel
free to stop by the office and receive more information about our P.T.A.,
Site Council, Parent Education programs, and volunteering in our
classrooms. You can also receive information using this web site for
dates and times. Parents and visitors are always welcome at
Erlewine School. Please sign-in at the office and receive a
visitor's badge.
Erlewine is a wonderful school! If you have any questions you can
