Class Rules

Our class rules are listed as follows.

1.   Eyes front when the teacher is talking.

2.  Raise a quiet hand and wait for permission to speak.

3.  Stay in your seat unless you have permission to do otherwise.

4.  Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

5.  Follow directions and do your best!

 Class Management

A color coded behavior chart is used in our class. Every student begins the day with a green color card. The first time a student chooses to break a rule, a warning is given.  The next time a student breaks a rule a yellow card is given.  The next time a student breaks a rule an orange card is given with a consequence of 10 minutes of recess time restricted. The next time a rule is broken a red card is given. If a student continues to choose to not follow the rules, all or some of the following may occur:  conference with the teacher; phone call to a parent; behavior citation; visit to the principal; no Eagle Buck on Friday. Please encourage your child towards keeping their green card!

Homework

Homework will be issued every Wednesday and is due the following Wednesday.  It will consist of a weekly assignments sheet that includes a D.I.R.T. log, spelling word list, reading words and instructions for the week.  In addition, a spelling notebook and a writing journal are to be completed each week.  Other assignments may be included as needed.  Math homework is due daily and will be turned in first thing in the morning.  All assignments will be kept in a blue homework folder. All homework should be reviewed and signed by an adult.
