Sam Brannan Middle School is a warm and welcoming place for students, parents, staff, and the community. Students develop strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and campus staff that give them a sense of acceptance and belonging.
     Sam Brannan is a place where students are honored for who they are no matter what their background or ability, yet they are always expected to reach higher goals. Parents are drawn into the education of their children with extensive communication and opportunities to participate in their child's success. Teachers communicate their own passion and commitment to life-long learning to students and the community. The school provides a safe, healthy, and pleasant environment. Beyond the education of our students, community groups utilize the Sam Brannan campus year round creating a neighborhood resource and gathering place. Sam Brannan offers a diverse academic program to help each student succeed. The components of our program are teamwork, communication, assessment, planning, and a comprehensive core program. Differentiation of instruction is designed to meet the needs of English Language Learners, Special Education students, our lowest achieving students, and for students in our rigorous GATE program. The sheer number of options provided to ours students is awe inspiring including numerous core classes, a huge array of unique and interesting electives courses, and extended day opportunities that expand the learning and showcase our students' talents in the local community and beyond.

Sam Brannan consistently exceeds expectations of Federal and State legislation, Union contracts, and standards-based assessment goals. For many schools, meeting the basic standards and the minimum requirements is the goal; however, at Sam Brannan Middle School the expectation is to exceed the requirements and standards. Teachers and administrators put in long hours developing an exciting curriculum, analyzing student data, individualizing instruction, and improving their own professional skills. Our five years of consistent growth in STAR results and API scores, and meeting our AYP annual measurable objectives and participation goals are evidence of the excellence in our program.
