Passengers eligible to purchase
RT discount monthly stickers must have a proper RT photo ID card. RT photo
ID cards cost $3 each and may be purchased by: seniors age 62 and older
(with written proof of age), and persons with disabilities (with written
proof of disability). A Medicare ID card is valid to purchase an RT Disabled
photo ID card. Please call 321-2877 for a listing of documentation accepted
by RT for disabled and attendant IDs. Students (ages 5-18) must show proof
of enrollment, name and date of birth (birth certificate, school id, ssn),
name of parent (or legal guardian), and home address and telephone number to
purchase an RT student ID card. RT student ID cards are good for three
years. RT photo ID for Lifetime Pass (age 75 and older) is free (with
written proof of age).

- Passengers
will line up in single-file order to board the bus.
Pushing/shoving during boarding/deboarding or while on
board, and rushing the bus to board will not be tolerated,
and will result in the loss of riding privilege and/or
issuance of citation, and possible cancellation of the
bus.
- All
passengers are expected to ride the bus in a quiet and
courteous manner. Loud talking, screaming, profanity, and
discourteous or disrespectful behavior will result in the
loss of riding privilege and/or issuance of a citation.
- No body
part (arm, face, etc.) may be extended through a window.
- Spitting or throwing
objects from the bus or at other passengers or the driver will
result in loss of the riding privilege and/or issuance of a
citation.
- Ring the bell once,
and only for the stop that you intend to get off at. Excessive
ringing of the bell or ringing the bell and then not getting off
will result in the loss of riding privilege.
- Fighting, horseplay,
setting off firecrackers, lighting objects on fire, throwing seat
cushions out the windows, possession of weapons, assault, extortion,
sexual harassment, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or
any other unsafe behavior will result in the loss of riding
privilege and issuance of a citation.
- Cracking or breaking
a window, cutting seat cushions, or any other damage to the bus will
result in the loss of riding privilege and/or issuance of a
citation, and the passenger will be responsible for reimbursing
Regional Transit for the cost of replacing the damaged part.
- All instructions
from the driver, supervisor, school personnel, or school monitor
must be obeyed. Failure to do so will result in the loss of riding
privilege.
- After getting off
the bus, throwing objects or spitting at the bus or any passenger
will result in loss of riding privilege and/or issuance of a
citation.
- Handing passes or
transfers out the window will result in the loss of riding privilege
and/or issuance of a citation, and confiscation of the pass or
transfer.
- Failure to have the
proper fare will result in denial of service and/or issuance of a
citation.
- If a Regional
Transit Identification Card is confiscated, no refund will be given
on any amount remaining on the monthly sticker. Additionally, if a
RT Identification Card is confiscated, the parents agree to attend a
meeting at Regional Transit to discuss the misbehavior that led to
the ID card being confiscated.
- Any misbehavior will
result in the loss of riding privilege and/or issuance of a
citation. If excessive misbehavior occurs on a supplemental school
service bus, Regional Transit reserves the right to cancel the
service. Parents may volunteer to ride a bus as a monitor to control
the behavior.
- Graffiti, vandalism,
or defacing any Regional Transit bus or any RT property will result
in the loss of riding privilege and/or issuance of a citation.
- Littering on a bus
or at a bus stop will result in denial of service and/or issuance of
a citation.
- Riding on the bumper
or hanging onto any exterior part of the bus while the vehicle is in
motion will result in loss of the riding privilege and/or issuance
of a citation.
- Smoking, eating, or
drinking are not allowed on Regional Transit vehicles and will
result in loss of riding privilege and/or issuance of a citation.
- Playing of audio
equipment or other electronic equipment is not allowed on Regional
Transit vehicles. Headphones may be used to listen to audio
equipment as long as the sound cannot be heard by other passengers
or the operator. The operator has the right to request that the
volume of audio equipment be lowered if the sound can be heard
through the headphones. Failure to do so will result in loss of
riding privilege and/or issuance of a citation.
- Altering any
Regional Transit Identification Card will result in the card being
confiscated, loss of riding privilege, and/or issuance of a
citation.
- Leaning against,
pushing against, pulling against, or kicking against any door is
prohibited, and will result in the Regional Transit Identification
Card being confiscated, loss of riding privilege, and/or issuance of
a citation.
