Students and families who would like supportive
assistance for personal or school-related issues are welcome to call
or drop by the Will C. Wood Healthy Start Family Resource Center.
Located on the school campus, Healthy Start provides direct
assistance to students and their parents/caregivers who may be
experiencing a variety of concerns such as youth/family conflicts,
food shortages, clothing or transportation needs, learning
difficulties, social isolation, depression, grief, and healthcare
access issues.
Healthy Start services include:

On-going personal support for issues that
come up at school or in the home;

Advocacy within the school system and in the
community on behalf of students;

Home visits;

Information and referral to local service
providers;

Mentoring and youth development;

On-site counseling provided by Sacramento
County Mental Health Children's Services;
All services and activities are provided at no
charge to students and their families.
